Alaska Airlines unveils another special livery aircraft on November 17: a Boeing 737-400 (N706AS Spirit of Make-A-Wish) with the Make-A-Wish Foundation logo and a Disney character. The aircraft is scheduled to enter service that day between Seattle and Ornage County as AS496.

 

Effective September 29, 2006, Transafrik has a new name: Air Transafrik Uganda.

 

 


Valiant Airways (Houston, Texas) now plans to operate one Boeing 747-400 Combi using the certificate of TradeWinds Airlines.

 

 

Tiger Airways has filed applications with the authorities in India to serve five cities (the airline already has rights to Kolkata), as well as with Sri Lanka to fly to Colombo, starting in 2007.

 

 

SriLankan Air Taxi has added service from Mattakkuliya, on the Kelani River in Colombo, to Kandy (2 sites), Bentota, Nuwara Eliya, Hingurakgoda, Galle (Koggala), Weerawila, Ampara (2 sites), Katunayake (Bandaranaike International Airport), Ratmalana (Colombo), Trincomalee, Katukurunda, Sigiriya, Dickwella, and Anuradhapura.
