DALLAS - ANA (NH) and Air India (AI) announced that they will enter a codeshare partnership from next month.

The Tokyo (TYO) based carrier and India’s flag carrier have entered into a commercial agreement marking the beginning of a codeshare partnership that will connect Japan and India. Through the partnership, passengers will be able to combine flights with a single ticket, receive mileage points, and access premium services.

"We look forward to building this strategic partnership with Air India, as it is a significant step towards furthering stronger air connectivity and enhancing customer experience between Japan and India," says Katsuya Goto, ANA's Executive Vice President of Alliances and International Affairs.

Codeshare

From April 23, ANA will apply its "NH" code to AI's flights between Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Delhi (DEL). Moreover, AI will add its "AI" code to ANA's flights between Tokyo’s Haneda (HND) and New Delhi (DEL) as well as between Narita (NRT) and Mumbai (BOM).

From May 23, the partnership between the two Star Alliance members will improve flight selection options for travelers, allowing passengers to conveniently reach many destinations by combining flights across the two airlines into a single ticket. In addition, travelers flying on codeshare flights can enjoy premium services such as lounge access and priority boarding that Star Alliance offers its premium members.

Expanded Cooperation

Both airlines are considering expanding this cooperation by adding additional destinations soon. This agreement will contribute to expanding the economic and commercial relations between India and Japan, by offering travelers from both countries new opportunities to discover the wonders of both countries.

"This collaboration broadens our network connectivity and offers our guests seamless travel experiences and a wider choice of flights between the two countries. We look forward to a successful collaboration with ANA and exploring further avenues for cooperation in the future," says Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer, Air India.

Codeshare flights will be available for sale through the airlines' respective websites, reservation systems, and travel agencies.
