Pattaya Airways Receives First ATR 72-500 Freighter

DALLAS – Thailand’s Pattaya Airways has welcomed its first and Thailand's only ATR 72-500 freighter aircraft to its fleet. The aircraft named "Thanthima" carries the registration HS-PAW. 

This is the first of two ATR 72s, that the airline plans to operate for its cargo services. The second aircraft is scheduled to enter service in May 2024. By the end of 2024, Pattaya Airways will operate two ATR 72-500 freighter aircraft, with plans to expand its fleet to five by 2028, as reported by the Bangkok Post.

Last year, Pattaya Group launched Pattaya Airways, to handle international cargo services. With its experience in the aviation sector, the Pattaya Group is well-positioned to capitalize on new opportunities.

The carrier will operate both domestically and internationally, supporting the growth of the logistics and E-commerce industries across the ASEAN region. Committed to becoming a leader in providing modern and efficient cargo transport services in the ASEAN region, Pattaya Airways intends to expand its fleet and enhance its services to meet market demands. 

The airline received an Air Operating Licence (AOL) from Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority on September 18, 2023. The company aims to take advantage of the rising demand for air transport services in the post-Covid period. Pattaya Airways will primarily target international companies doing business in the Asian region. 

The airline is expected to commence flights in early August 2024.
