Air France Doubles Down on Safran Cirrus 5C03 Suites

PARIS — Air France (AF) is pushing forward with the transformation of its long-haul fleet, placing an additional order with Safran Seats to retrofit 18 more Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with next-generation business class suites.

The carrier placed a total order of 700 seats. The move strengthens AF’s commitment to premium travel, while enhancing cabin consistency across its flagship international routes.

“Air France is strengthening its strategic partnership with Safran Seats to equip its entire fleet of Boeing 777-300 aircraft with new business class seats,” revealed Safran Seats in Paris.

This new retrofit wave builds on previous upgrades already underway and signals a comprehensive transformation of the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER fleet. The modernized aircraft are set to enter service gradually over the coming years.

Upgraded Suites with Enhanced Tech

The Cirrus 5C03 seats, part of Safran’s latest generation of business class offerings, represent a significant step forward in passenger comfort and privacy. These fully enclosed mini-suites come with sliding doors, lie-flat beds, and direct aisle access, designed to meet the growing expectations of today’s premium travelers.

As reported by runwaygirlnetwork.com, each suite is carefully crafted with a focus on both functionality and elegance, offering passengers a quiet and private space to relax or work during long-haul flights.

This seat model is an enhanced version of the doored mini-suites that Air France first introduced back in 2022. Since their debut, these suites have already been installed on 12 of the airline’s 43 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. With the latest order placed with Safran Seats, AF is now extending this upgrade to 18 more aircraft, continuing its push for greater consistency and quality across its international fleet.

While the overall layout remains familiar, the Cirrus 5C03 introduces several new technological enhancements. Travelers can now enjoy a larger 17.3-inch 4K screen, complete with Bluetooth support for wireless headphones.

The suite also features wireless charging, USB-A and USB-C ports, and an AC power outlet, ensuring passengers can keep their devices powered and connected throughout their journey. With this modern blend of comfort, privacy, and high-end technology, Air France is reinforcing its position as a top-tier choice for long-haul business travel.

This latest deal brings the total number of seats ordered to 2,200 by 2028, added the French seatmaker.
