American Launches Six New International Summer Routes

FORT WORTH — American Airlines (AA) announced six new routes to Europe and South America for next summer, along with expanded premium travel service to Tokyo.

“Customers continue to tell us that Europe is where they want to go each summer, and these new routes make it even easier to cross the Atlantic in 2026. We are excited to grow our network to new destinations like Prague and Budapest and offer even more premium travel experiences on our flights to Tokyo,” said Brian Znotins, American Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning.

During summer 2026, the airline will be the only carrier offering non-stop connections between Budapest and the U.S., debut with direct connections to Prague, and add new routes to popular European cities - Zurich, Milan, and Athens.

Enhanced Connectivity to Central Europe

The addition of non-stop routes demonstrates the airline’s commitment to providing convenient non-stop connections between its industry-leading U.S. domestic network and exciting European destinations. BUD and PRG will complement American’s robust trans-Atlantic network, along with other 17 trans-Atlantic destinations served from its Philadelphia hub in 2026.

Passengers flying via PHL can enjoy the airline's new Flagship and Admirals Club lounges, designed for travellers to relax during their journey.

More Flights to Favourite European Cities

American will offer a record 18 daily connections to Italy and Greece during the summer of 2026.

Daily flights from DFW will be the airline’s fifth non-stop destination from Athens, more than any other airline flying between Greece and the U.S.

In the coming summer, American will be the only airline to offer daily flights between MIA and MXP. As the largest airline in Miami, Milan Malpensa will complement flights to Rome that started during the summer of 2025.

Exceptional Limited-Time Service for Soccer Fans

For global soccer fans, American Airlines will launch time-limited service between ZRH and DFW as well as from EZE to DFW and MIA, connecting soccer fans to Dallas-Fort Worth for the premier sporting event.

From May 21 to August 21, 2026, American Airlines will be the only carrier on the route ZRH-DFW. Route DWF-EZE has been offered as a seasonal winter route; however, it will be extended for summer 2026 with four weekly flights as well as up to three daily flights on route MIA-EZE.

Expanded Premium Service to Tokyo Haneda Airport

Passengers travelling to Tokyo from Dallas (DFW) and Los Angeles (LAX) next summer will have more options to enhance their travel experience with American’s premium product as the airline increases premium seating capacity by more than 45% starting from March 29, 2026.

Flights from Dallas will be operated daily on a Boeing 777-300, while flights from Los Angeles will operate twice a day on a Boeing 777-200.
