Delta Air Lines Unveils A350 Team USA Aircraft Livery

DALLAS — Yesterday, Delta Air Lines (DL) unveiled its custom Airbus A350 Team USA aircraft livery in Toulouse, France. This special livery is a tribute to Delta's commitment to celebrating athletes' journeys and connecting them with their dreams as the official airline of Team USA.

The A350, inspired by Team USA, represents Delta's eight-year partnership with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, which will continue through the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The unveiling event in Toulouse was made even more special by the presence of Delta's Chairman's Club. The Chairman's Club is a select group of the airline's top 100 employees from various divisions across the company. These employees, nominated by their peers and Delta's senior leaders, represent the best of Delta and exemplify the Delta brand in their daily work.

Every year, Chairman's Club Honorees receive the distinction of flying on a new Delta aircraft home to Atlanta as recognition of their commitment and dedication to the brand.

This year, the 2023 Chairman's Club Honorees class had the privilege of unveiling the brand-new Team USA livery design and being the first to fly on the newly decorated plane. This unique opportunity allowed them to celebrate the countdown to the Paris Games, and their presence added to the occasion's significance.

Designing the Livery

Alessandra Rabellino and Delta's internal brand design team, Window Seat, designed the custom livery for the Airbus A350 over several months. The design features the colors red, white, and blue, with "Team USA" proudly written across the side of the aircraft.

It incorporates elements from the Team USA Livery design for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, symbolizing the beginning of the partnership journey. Additionally, the design includes features that look ahead to Paris and beyond.

According to Rabellino, the design team evolved one of the main features of the Beijing Livery, the jet stream, into the shape of the Eiffel Tower. This design element represents momentum as the countdown to the Paris Games continues.

The unveiling of the livery was an exciting moment for Rabellino, and being part of the occasion alongside the Chairman's Club Honorees was a true honor.

Delta's Team USA Partnership

In addition to the custom aircraft livery, Delta has partnered with 15 Team USA athlete ambassadors for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024. These athlete ambassadors include U.S. Olympians, Paralympians, Olympic hopefuls, and gold-medal-winning legends.

They will join Delta on the road to Paris, where the airline will support them both on and off the field of play, celebrating their stories of resilience and perseverance as they pursue their Olympic and Paralympic dreams.

As Team USA's official airline, Delta will manage the travel for all U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milan 2026, and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, where Delta is also an inaugural founding partner.

This partnership further solidifies Delta's longstanding support for sports and its proud history of supporting Team USA and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, having previously sponsored the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Atlanta 1996 and Salt Lake City 2002.
