‍DALLAS – The first Malaysia Airlines (MH) Airbus A330neo aircraft bearing the airline’s distinctive new livery has rolled out of the Toulouse (TLS), France warehouse.

The familiar ‘wau’ logo, symbolizing Malaysian pride, is displayed on the aircraft’s tail, while the Malaysian flag motif is shown along the sides of the fuselage. The Kuala Lumpur (KUL) based carrier will not receive this new aircraft for months. It must still be equipped with engines.

The Airbus A330neo will be fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines. These will then undergo performance tests in preparation for their first flight.

Every aspect of the aircraft’s cabin systems, from air flow and air conditioning to lighting, galleys, lavatories, seating, and in-flight entertainment systems, will undergo rigorous testing.

Airbus will conduct advanced general performance tests to ensure the aircraft meets all specifications and is ready for delivery, instilling confidence in its safety and comfort.

New MH Airbus A330 Aircraft

Malaysia Airlines is set to receive its first A330neo in the third quarter of this year. The wide-body aircraft will be deployed on several of the carrier’s routes, serving medium—to long-haul routes across Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East.

The Airbus A330neo is the first of  20 ordered by the company. It represents an upgrade from the A330-200 and 300 models currently in the airline’s fleet. The aircraft can carry up to 440 passengers. 

The A330neo brings several environmental and cost gains for Malaysia’s national airline. Operating flights with this aircraft reduces fuel consumption by up to 14 percent per passenger compared to the current A330-300.  Ultimately, this is beneficial for the environment through lower carbon emissions.
