Air Transat Expands Int Network with Three Cities

MONTREAL Air Transat (TS) has unveiled major network expansions for its Summer 2026 program, including three new international routes and the conversion of several seasonal services to year-round operations.

The carrier’s growth strategy focuses on strengthening its footprint in Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, while offering travelers greater flexibility and connectivity.

“Our summer 2026 is already shaping up to be exceptional,” said Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat. “We’re accelerating growth in Quebec City, launching our first transatlantic route from Ottawa, and expanding our international connections.”

Quebec City Gains Link to Southern France

Beginning May 21, 2026, Air Transat will launch a weekly Quebec City–Marseille service operating on Thursdays through October 8. The new route complements the existing Quebec City–Paris link and provides direct access to France’s Mediterranean coast.

Additionally, the Quebec City–Fort-de-France route, which debuts in December 2025, will continue through the summer with weekly Monday flights, extending year-round service to Martinique.

Ottawa’s First Direct Transatlantic Route

Starting May 15, 2026, Air Transat will operate three weekly non-stop flights from Ottawa to London Gatwick (LGW), flying Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays. The airline will also introduce an Ottawa–Montreal service from May 5 to October 23, improving connectivity for travelers in the Canadian capital.

The expansion coincides with Porter Airlines’ growing presence at Ottawa International Airport, positioning the city as an emerging hub in eastern Canada.

Year-Round Southbound Service

Air Transat is also extending several of its popular southern routes from Montreal and Toronto into year-round operations beginning in summer 2026:

| **Routes** | **Number of Flights** | **Operating Days** | | -------------------------------------------------- | --------------------- | ---------------------- | | Montreal (YUL) – Cartagena (CTG) – Medellín (MDE)* | 1 flight/week | Thursdays | | Montreal (YUL) – Pointe-à-Pitre (PTP) | 2 flights/week | Tuesdays and Saturdays | | Montreal (YUL) – San José (SJO) | 2 flights/week | Mondays and Fridays | | Toronto (YYZ) – Cartagena (CTG) – Medellín (MDE) | 1 flight/week | Wednesdays |

The Montreal–Cartagena service will now operate year-round and extend to Medellín, mirroring the model of the Toronto–Cartagena–Medellín route, which is set to launch in November 2025. These combined routes will allow travelers to explore both the Caribbean coast and Colombia’s cultural heartland.

All newly announced flights are now open for booking, with additional network updates expected as part of Air Transat’s Summer 2026 rollout in the coming weeks.
