JOHANNESBURG — Airlink (4Z) has entered into a lease agreement with Azorra for 10 Embraer E195-E2 jets, which will start deliveries later in the year and continue through to 2027.
The aircraft will contribute to 4Z's fleet of 68 aircraft, supporting capacity growth on major regional routes and the addition of new routes throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
Efficiency Through Fleet Commonality
Because the new planes are comparable to 4Z's existing Embraer fleet, they will bring operational benefits and hold 136 passengers in a two-by-two seating. Comparable flight decks, systems, and procedures will simplify pilot transitions and facilitate maintenance and training.
Ambitious Growth Backed by Strategic Partners
Last year, Qatar Airways (QR) became a 25% equity partner in 4Z, giving the smaller airline a boost. Now, the E195-E2's fuel efficiency and range align with the airline's growth strategy, as well as its sustainability goals.
The first plane is scheduled for delivery in December 2025.
