LUXEMBOURG — Cargolux (CV) has introduced additional inspections across its Boeing 747-8F fleet worldwide after the left wing landing gear on aircraft LX-VCF collapsed while it was parked at Luxembourg Airport (LUX), the airline said.
The incident occurred on the morning of October 23, 2026, according to Tageblatt’s report on the incident. Cargolux said no crew members, employees or other individuals were injured.
The carrier said recovery work was underway with the relevant authorities and that the circumstances were under investigation. Its statement did not identify a cause or name the authority leading the investigation.
Checks Before Further Flights
Cargolux described the inspections as a precaution and said they would take place before each aircraft’s next flight. The statement did not detail the checks, how long they would take or whether they had disrupted services.
The inspection measure specified the 747-8F. Cargolux also operates Boeing 747-400 freighters, but its inspection announcement concerned the 747-8F fleet.
The statement did not provide a timetable for completing recovery work or returning LX-VCF to service.
