‍PHOENIX — Taiwan-based carrier China Airlines (CI) has announced a new nonstop service between Taipei and Phoenix starting from December 3, 2025.

China Airlines will become the first Asian airline to fly to Phoenix, Arizona. Three weekly Taipei-Phoenix flights will be operated by Airbus A350-900, every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Flight CI036 will depart Taoyuan International (TPE) at 10:55 and land at Phoenix (PHX) at 08:00 local time. Return flight CI035 will depart from Phoenix at 11:55, make a stopover at Los Angeles (LAX) at 12:20, and arrive in Taipei (TPE) at 21:30 local time the following day.

Seamless Connection to Inland American Destinations

Phoenix is a key gateway for Southwest Airlines (WN) with over 30 flights arriving and departing at PHX during peak hours. China Airlines partnered with Southwest Airlines to build a comprehensive trans-Pacific transfer network.

Thanks to the perfect timing of flight CI036 from Taipei to Phoenix, travelers can take advantage of interline ticketing to transfer to Southwest Airlines flights to over 30 destinations in the United States. Flights depart from the same terminal at Phoenix.

Luggage is transferred to the passengers' final destination, allowing for a convenient connection at Phoenix. 

China Airlines' Growing Presence in North America

China Airlines entered the North American market more than half a century ago. Phoenix will be the 7th airline’s seventh destination in North America, together with New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), Ontario (ONT), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA) in the U.S., and Vancouver (YVR) in Canada, with 40 weekly round flights.

Next year, China Airlines plans to increase its flight frequency to New York (JFK) and become a tenant in the new Terminal One at JFK. Innovative technologies in JFK’s new terminal will provide passengers with a brand new experience.
