Discover Airlines Appoints Ulrich Lindner as New CEO

FRANKFURT — Ulrich Lindner will become the new CEO of Discover Airlines (4Y) on December 1, 2025. He will take over from Bernd Bauer, who currently holds the dual role of CEO of the two Lufthansa Group leisure airlines, 4Y and Edelweiss (WK) in Switzerland.

Given the size of the airlines above and their future development, the two companies “are likely to be managed separately in the future,” according to the 4Y press release.

Bernd Bauer has utilized his knowledge to help 4Y grow, stabilize its operations and finances, and make it profitable during the past three years. The transfer will happen gradually during November, and on December 1, Bauer will resume his full attention as WK CEO.

In October 2022, Bauer assumed the role of CEO of Discover Airlines, in addition to his position as CEO of WK. Under his leadership, 4Y has grown significantly, established itself as a major player in the leisure and private travel market, and achieved consistently high customer satisfaction ratings.

During this time, the airline has revamped its brand image, massively expanded its route network, and opened its second home base in Munich. The airline was founded in 2021 and modeled after WK.
