Gulf Air Finalizes Order for 15 Boeing 787 at DAS 2025

DUBAI — Gulf Air (GF) has further expanded its long-haul fleet with an order for 15 more Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with an option for three additional aircraft.

The agreement was signed during the 2025 Dubai Airshow by Gulf Air CEO Martin Gauss and Boeing CEO Brad McMullen. This agreement took Gulf Air’s 787 total to 17 aircraft. Focusing on their long-haul travel.

Chairman of the Gulf Air Group, Khalid Husain Taqi, stated that this deal advances the airline’s intentions and efforts to expand global travel and its network.

With 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliners already in service for the airline, the addition of 17 787s strengthens the airline’s plan to expand its network to Asia, Europe, and the United States. With GF already covering many regions with 10 787s, an increase of 17 will just take the airline further.

Stephanie Pope, Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO, noted that the Dreamliner remains a prominent and central figure in GF’s fleet, offering incredible range, fuel efficiency, and an unrivaled passenger experience. The word “Dreamliner” also conveys a comfortable ride, and the 787 lives up to its name.

The aircraft also features larger windows, an improved cabin pressurization system, and an advanced turbulence-reduction system that dampens any unwanted oscillations using the autopilot.

This order reflects the airline’s commitment to sustainability and a trust in the 787 despite recent criticism. The 787 continues to offer unparalleled performance as compared to older widebody aircraft.
