HONOLULU — Hawaiian Airlines (HA) has officially joined the oneworld alliance, becoming its newest member. This partnership gives travelers in Hawaiʻi access to a broader network through Alaska Air Group’s expanding international platform. It is Hawaiian’s first entry into a major airline alliance and extends connectivity to nearly 1,000 destinations in more than 170 countries.
Hawaiian stated that joining oneworld will make it easier for residents and visitors to connect between the islands and major international markets. Members of oneworld carriers’ loyalty programs can now earn and redeem points and receive elite recognition on Hawaiian-operated flights. The airline reported carrying over 11 million passengers in 2025 and currently operates approximately 230 daily flights to, from, and within Hawaiʻi.
For Atmos Rewards members, the combined Alaska-Hawaiian loyalty program, joining the alliance represents a significant upgrade. Members can now earn and redeem points across the other 14 oneworld airlines, receive corresponding oneworld tier recognition, and access nearly 700 premium lounges worldwide, depending on status. Eligible members will also receive benefits such as priority check-in, boarding, seating, and baggage handling.
Significance of the alliance
The broader impact extends beyond alliance membership. Hawaiian’s entry strengthens Alaska Air Group’s global presence in the Pacific and makes the merger more tangible for passengers. Alaska joined oneworld in 2021, and Hawaiian’s addition further expands reach across the islands, North America, Asia-Pacific, and other regions. The carrier stated that this move also supports Hawaiʻi’s tourism economy by improving access from key international markets.
Hawaiian announced plans to introduce a special oneworld livery on an Airbus A330. The airline and Alaska will continue to develop their combined platform, focusing on shared loyalty benefits, expanded global reach, and a more integrated digital experience.
This alliance milestone supports the broader Alaska-Hawaiian integration. Customers can now book oneworld itineraries through hawaiianairlines.com, alaskaair.com, or the new unified Alaska Hawaiian app. This follows Alaska Air Group’s recent transition of both airlines to a shared passenger service system and combined app, streamlining booking, trip management, and self-service tools across both brands.
