DALLAS — JetBlue (B6) operated its inaugural flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS), located along Florida’s Panhandle.
The service marks a milestone for the Emerald Coast and expands B6's growing Florida network. The service brings Florida closer to reaching Spring Break travelers in the Northeast.
“Today’s first flight from New York marks an exciting new chapter for the Emerald Coast,” said Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president, network planning and airline partnerships.
Services between New York and Destin–Fort Walton Beach:
- Flight B6 2011 Departs JFK at 07.00, arriving in VPS at 09.08
- Flight B6 2012 Departs VPS at 10.00, arriving in JFK at 13.38
Flights operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from March 5.
Additional service launch
The airline will also launch new nonstop service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and VPS on March 5, further connecting the Florida panhandle with the Northeast.
From April 17 to April 26 this year, B6 will offer a second daily flight between BOS and VPA. These flights will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Services between Boston and Destin–Fort Walton Beach:
- Flight B6 1781 Departs BOS at 12.40, arriving in VPS at 15.00
- Flight B6 1782 Departs VPS at 15.55, arriving in BOS at 19.51
Flights operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from March 5.
Network expansion
These new routes build on B6’s continued growth across Florida, where the airline now serves 11 destinations and is a leading carrier between the Northeast and the Sunshine State.
The new flights not only provide direct access for customers in the Northeast seeking a warm-weather escape, but also open new opportunities for Emerald Coast residents traveling to New York, Boston, or beyond.
“With nonstop access to both JFK and Boston, we’re making it easier than ever for customers to travel between the Northeast and one of Florida’s most sought-after beach destinations, while also giving local residents convenient connections to JetBlue’s broader network,” Jehn said.
