PASAY CITY — On January 17, 2026, Philippine Airlines (PR) hosted a landmark ceremony at Lufthansa Technik Philippines, in the Macroasia Economic Zone, Villamor Airbase, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines, to celebrate two key milestones: entering its 85th year and unveiling its first Airbus A350-1000.

The event was organized as a mini carnival with snacks and cocktails, singing and dancing performances, and was warmly attended by PR’s executives, its employees, its business counterparts, and the media.

As the national carrier and major contributor to the nation’s aviation development, the airline also welcomed to the ceremony President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr., and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, together with top government officials and dignitaries.
During the ceremony, PR highlighted its long-standing service to the nation and unveiled its new theme song, “Fly with Heart.” The airline also emphasized its distinction as the first carrier in Southeast Asia to operate this new aircraft type.

The event included a guided cabin tour showcasing PR’s latest cabin products and enhanced in-flight experience, featuring a spacious tri-class configuration with 42 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 316 Economy seats—accommodating a total of 382 passengers.

The new state-of-the-art aircraft is primarily focused on operating long-haul flights between Manila (MNL) and New York (JFK) and is set to elevate PR’s transpacific services in North America and Canada, as the airline eyes continued growth and expansion of its network.
