DALLAS — Porter Airlines (PD) is strengthening its domestic network with the addition of a new nonstop route between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ)—the sole nonstop aerial connection currently available between the capital cities of Ontario and British Columbia.
The first flight departs today, May 15, 2025, with four weekly roundtrips to begin. Plans are to advance to daily flights beginning June 16.
The service is operated with PD's 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which provides a two-by-two seating arrangement, so no middle seats are available on the flight. The Ottawa–Victoria flight is said to depart at 8:40 a.m. and arrive at 11:00 a.m. local time, while the return flight from Victoria to Ottawa departs at 11:55 a.m. and arrives at 7:40 p.m. local time.
For the route inauguration, PD joined forces with Fairmont Empress in Victoria and Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa to offer exclusive promotions at both terminals. Travelers on the first flights will receive a ticket to a Getaway Package with two round-trip tickets on Porter and a two-night accommodation at the Fairmont hotel in their destination city, outlining the cultural sophistication of both cities.
Porter Airlines is still the sole provider of non-stop flights on this route, bringing its signature elevated economy product. Onboard features include free beer and wine poured into glassware, premium Canadian snacks, and quick, complimentary WiFi.
For those with more to spend, PorterReserve fares add more extensive benefits, including fresh meals, more legroom, two included checked bags, and priority airport services. Passengers can also customize their experience using PorterClassic's à la carte features.
The new route allows continued connecting flights from Ottawa to PD's network in Eastern Canada, such as Halifax, Charlottetown, Fredericton, and St. John's. The Ottawa–Victoria service is now bookable on flyporter.com.
