AUSTIN, Texas — Southwest Airlines (WN) plans to add nonstop flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Nassau, Bahamas (NAS), Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ), and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR), for summer 2027.
The airport said each route will operate twice weekly, on Saturdays and Sundays. Southwest specifies weekend service in June and July. Tickets are on sale, according to the October 2 announcements.
Austin airport said the additions will provide its only nonstop links to the three destinations.
The routes follow previously announced seasonal service to San José, Costa Rica (SJO), which the airport says is due to begin March 13, 2027. Southwest also plans returning service to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (PVR), and San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU).
The package follows earlier Austin route additions announced for spring 2025. Southwest's summer 2027 schedule announcement calls for up to 143 departures a day from Austin, combining frequency increases with seven seasonal routes. Five of those routes have not previously been offered by Southwest from Austin, the airline said.
The domestic additions include weekend roundtrips to Savannah, Georgia (SAV), and Saturday-only flights to Bozeman, Montana (BZN). Seasonal daily service to Portland, Oregon (PDX), and Saturday-only flights to Sarasota, Florida (SRQ), will return.
Southwest also plans to increase year-round Austin–San Diego (SAN) service to as many as six flights a day on peak days.
The airline's overall summer schedule covers June 3 through August 2, 2027. Southwest says the three new Austin international routes are scheduled for weekends in June and July.
