AMSTERDAM — Dutch airline Transavia (HV) is marking its 60th anniversary with a retro Airbus A321neo, an ode to its heritage.

Transavia will soon take delivery of the brand-new A321neo in retro livery, A321N PH-YHD, which we caught on its first flight today. This livery is inspired by the branding designed by Dutch designer Thijs Postma in 1966.

According to HV, Postma "was the creator of the iconic green colour and the large, black T on the fuselage and tail. It is Transavia's first recognisable house style and can also be applied to the current, new Airbus. Transavia gained a lot of fame with this house style.”

Comments from Transavia CEO

Transavia CEO Marcel de Nooijer states, “Celebrating our 60th anniversary is a moment to reflect on what we have achieved together. The arrival of a new Airbus in retro livery is our way of looking back with pride on what has brought us and where we are now. While at the same time looking ahead to a quieter future thanks to our fleet renewal.”

The airline, founded on October 21, 1965, is celebrating six decades of operations throughout the year, alongside its passengers, business partners, and colleagues. At various moments, the airline "will reflect on Transavia's rich history, while also paying ample attention to plans for the future."
