OSAKA — Have you ever heard of Peach Aviation, a small budget airline operating out of Osaka, Japan? The airline, a subsidiary of one of Japan’s national carriers, ANA All Nippon Airways (NK), primarily serves domestic routes throughout Japan with a few select routes to neighboring countries such as South Korea, Taiwan, China, Singapore, and Thailand, and was founded in 2011 as a joint venture between NK and First Eastern Investment Group, a Hong Kong-based private equity and venture capital firm. The airline primarily operates Airbus A320-family aircraft.
In a press release from flypeach.com on March 31, 2026, the airline stated, “This brand renewal is more than a simple design update. While staying true to our core value of ‘casual travel,’ it represents Peach’s commitment to reaching the next level by further improving our essential quality.”
The airline intends to release the design tomorrow, April 1, 2026, rolling it out everywhere from official airport signs to the website itself, with planes flying with the new livery expected to hit the skies in Spring of 2027.
Design by Oki Sato of Nendo
The airline has brought on globally-renowned designer Oki Sato of Nendo as its design partner, who claims, “In this brand renewal, we aimed to create an experience where a sense of security and trust coexist with subtle playfulness and fun. By layering details including negative space, shapes, and organization of information, we designed an appearance that feels ‘proper but informal,’ and by carefully balancing seemingly contradictory elements such as seriousness and playfulness, as well as reliability and lightness, we aim to be a brand that anyone, regardless of age or travel experience, would naturally choose.”
Peach Aviation remains one of Japan’s top three carriers, having carried more than 75 million passengers since its founding in 2011.
