TORONTO — Embraer has delivered the 50th E195-E2 to Porter Airlines (PD), a milestone in one of North America’s fastest-growing fleet expansions.
Porter received its first E195-E2 in December 2022 and now holds 75 firm orders, with purchase rights for 25 additional aircraft, potentially expanding the fleet to 100 E2s. The type has underpinned PD's rapid network growth across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America.
The airline recently launched 13 new routes to leisure markets including Cancun (CUN), Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Nassau (NAS), Grand Cayman (GCM), and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) from Toronto (YYZ), Ottawa (YOW), Montreal (YUL), and Hamilton (YHM).

The E195-E2 Jet
Powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, the 132-seat E195-E2 delivers up to 29% lower fuel burn versus first-generation E-Jets and offers a 3,000-nautical-mile range, enabling nonstop operations across much of North America and nearby international markets.
Porter operates the aircraft in a two-by-two layout with no middle seats, complemented by complimentary Wi-Fi, premium snacks, and beer and wine served in glassware.
The airline’s 50-aircraft E2 milestone highlights how right-sized, fuel-efficient narrow-bodies are reshaping short- and medium-haul growth, allowing airlines to expand internationally while differentiating on onboard experience rather than density alone.
