DALLAS — Air France (AF) is rebranding its Premium Economy cabin, launched by AF in 2009, as simply "Premium," marking a move toward a more upscale travel experience.
This rebranding reflects AF's intention to enhance its product and service offerings across its fleet. Passengers traveling in the Premium cabin will benefit from advanced recliner seats, mainly available on selected Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s.
These seats provide up to 124 degrees of recline and between 94 to 97 cm of legroom, and are equipped with "a wide 13.3-inch 4K-quality Ultra HD anti-glare touchscreen with Bluetooth connection, allowing customers to enjoy over 1,500 hours of on-demand entertainment, with a particular focus on French productions."
As part of its ongoing cabin renewal efforts, AF plans to equip nearly 80% of its fleet with these recliner seats by the end of 2025.
Meanwhile, SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK) has announced that it will reintroduce a dedicated European Business Class cabin in the summer of 2025. The airline will also revert to classic names for its long-haul cabins, now labeled as Eco, Premium Eco, and Business, replacing its current product names.
The news, first reported by Andreas Spaeth via X, comes on the same day SK announces a new long-term wet lease agreement with Braathens Regional Airways AB.
