  • Passengers will have a single ticket and perform a single baggage check-in.
  • Seamless travel for transit passengers

Comments from Airline Officials

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India: “Our new partnership with airBaltic strengthens our extended worldwide network and provides easy access to our guests to and from the Baltics, an emerging tourism region for Indians, consisting of nations with which India’s trade ties continue to grow.”

Pauls Cālītis, Interim CEO and COO of airBaltic: " This new agreement with Air India marks the first step toward our air ties with India. The cooperation will bring mutual benefits to both airlines and our passengers. We are excited about this development and look forward to our partnership, especially as we observe a steady increase in passenger traffic between the Baltic and India.”

Strategical Importance

For AI, making this agreement will expand its reach into the Baltic states and Scandinavia, enabling new markets for both business and leisure travelers. For BT, the airline will gain access to the large Indian market by offering more long-haul options to its European passengers.

This cooperation will increase the competitiveness and provide more routes and passengers without the need for more aircraft or direct flights.
