Alaska Airlines Enhances Mileage Plan for 2025

DALLAS — Alaska Airlines (AS) is upgrading its Mileage Plan for 2025, offering members new ways to earn elite status more quickly and enjoy enhanced perks.

Starting in January, members can earn elite-qualifying miles through award travel, credit card purchases, and more, enabling them to reach new milestones faster. Members can choose from various perks at these milestones, making the loyalty program even more personalized.

As the Seattle-based airline partners with Hawaiian Airlines (HA), the two will launch a unified loyalty program, allowing members to transfer miles and enjoy benefits across both airlines seamlessly.

Hawaii residents will also gain access to a new travel program featuring exclusive discounts. This initiative marks a crucial step in AS' long-term plan to provide an increasingly rewarding experience for its customers.

Alaska Airlines' Vice President of Loyalty, Brett Catlin, highlighted the airline’s commitment to continually improving its loyalty program, which is already known as one of the most generous in the industry.

Global Earning, Redemption Options for 2025

Alaska Airlines also announced it was making it easier for Mileage Plan members to earn and redeem miles worldwide through partnerships with 30 domestic and international airlines, including oneworld Alliance members.

Starting next year, members booking flights with AS' 23 direct booking partners will always earn 100% of miles flown. For premium cabins, the mileage bonuses increase: 150% in Premium Economy, 250% in Business Class, and 350% in International First Class. This offers members significant mileage rewards on international travel.

Additionally, the carrier is introducing multi-carrier redemptions, allowing members to combine flights from various global partners for seamless travel. Starting with routes between the U.S. and Europe, members can book trips that involve multiple airlines, such as combining American Airlines (AA) and British Airways (BA)  flights for a journey to Rome.

In 2025, members can redeem miles for exclusive events and experiences, with "Extras" becoming a new offering. Furthermore, the popular Global Getaways program will expand, providing discounted award travel to international destinations, enabling members to travel farther with fewer miles.

Since its launch, AS says Global Getaways has already saved members nearly 50 million miles.
