DOHA — Qatar Airways (QR) is expanding its African network, with resumptions of flights and increased frequencies on various routes.
The Doha-based carrier is boosting connectivity across Africa after the recent Middle East conflict, which affected its entire flight schedule.
The increased services are set to make travel to and from various African destinations more convenient, while also strengthening QR's network.
Resumed services
The airline will restart services to the Seychelles (SEZ). The route will be operated four times a week. QR will also return to Kigali (KGL) next month. It will operate two weekly rotations on this route from June 16.
The carrier will resume daily scheduled flights to Marrakesh (RAK) from July 1.
Increased frequencies
In addition, the full-service airline will enhance connectivity to various other African destinations, with increased frequencies from June 16.
Qatar Airways will increase services to Alexandria (HBE), from three to seven weekly flights. Flights to Cairo (CAI) will increase from 28 to 35 flights per week.
Then, in Southern Africa, QR is to increase frequencies on a number of routes. The airline will expand from seven to ten weekly flights on its Cape Town (CPT) route.
Dar es Salaam (DAR) will increase from three to seven weekly flights. Lusaka (LUN) and Harare (HRE) – operated on a triangular route - will increase from five weekly flights to seven.
And, then Maputo (MPM) and Durban (DUR) – also operated on a triangular routing - will increase from four to seven weekly flights.
