DALLAS — The week of May 12–17, 2025, saw a wave of significant new route announcements and launches across North America, Europe, and Asia. 

These additions highlight continued transatlantic growth, expanded regional connectivity, and new links to leisure destinations. Below is a summary of the most notable developments, organized by region and carrier.

Transatlantic, North American, Transpacific

  • TAP Air Portugal
    • Porto–Boston: Inaugurated May 16, operating four times weekly (Mon, Wed, Sat, Sun) through Oct. 25. This is TAP’s second U.S. destination from Porto, complementing Newark.
    • Lisbon–Los Angeles: The new service was launched on May 16, initially three times weekly, and increased to four from May 25, using A330-900neo aircraft.
    • Lisbon–San Francisco (via Terceira): From June 3, one weekly flight will include a stopover in the Azores.
  • Delta Air Lines
    • Minneapolis/St. Paul–Copenhagen: Launching May 22, thrice weekly with Airbus A330-300s. This route leverages Delta’s new partnership with SAS following its move to SkyTeam.
  • United Airlines
    • Newark–Faro, Portugal: Four times weekly, launched May 16.
    • Newark–Palermo, Italy: Three times weekly, starting May 21.

  • Air Arabia
    • Sharjah–Krabi, Thailand: Daily nonstop flights begin on November 28, making Krabi the third Thai destination.

    • Hanimaadhoo–Bangalore: A new twice-weekly service has been launched, boosting regional connectivity for northern Maldives.

  • Air Transat
