DALLAS — Air Cambodia (K6) has placed its first-ever Boeing order, signing for 10 737-8s with options for 10 more, in what Boeing calls the airline’s largest single-aisle purchase.
The deal was finalized in December 2025 and had appeared as an unidentified customer on Boeing’s Orders & Deliveries site before being unveiled publicly at the Singapore Airshow on February 3, 2026.
Boeing says the 737 MAX will be the first Boeing aircraft type operated by a Cambodian airline, and positions the 737-8 as a right-sized platform for Air Cambodia’s growth across high-demand intra-Asia markets.
The manufacturer lists typical 737-8 specs, including up to 178 seats in a two-class layout, a range of up to 3,500 nm, and roughly 20% lower fuel burn and emissions than the aircraft it replaces.
Separately, the U.S. Department of Commerce framed the agreement as a roughly US$3 billion commercial deal supporting more than 12,000 U.S. jobs, underscoring the order’s broader industrial and diplomatic visibility at the airshow.
A Reuters report also noted the announcement took place in the presence of U.S. and Cambodian officials and linked it to wider trade talks.
For now, K6 needs to start work on its Boeing 737 MAX pilot training pipelines, maintenance planning, and securing delivery slots where there arent; that many available in the short-term.
