DALLAS — ANA Group is undergoing a major brand strategy shift and is shutting down the AirJapan (NQ) brand. The company says the effort is in response to the changing business environment.
Since 2024, ANA Group has used a three-brand strategy: ANA (NH) focusing on high-demand international routes, Peach (MM) focusing on Kansai (KIX)-Asia routes for leisure travelers, and AirJapan primarily flying out of Narita (NRT). However, the global environment has changed due to factors such as the Ukraine war and delays in aircraft delivery.
ANA is also dealing with the ongoing aircraft-on-the-ground (AOG) situation involving its Boeing 787 aircraft.
Thus, to maximize resources, ANA Group has decided to suspend the AirJapan brand. Its aircraft and human resources will be consolidated into the ANA brand to help expand international operations.
AirJapan, the operating company that manages flights for both the ANA and AirJapan brands, will operate ANA-brand international flights, leveraging its high operational standards.
The final dates for AirJapan's route operations are shown below.
ANA Group says that it will continue to work together as one to provide customers with a safe, secure, and comfortable air travel experience.
