EasyJet Delays Return to Israel to March 2026

DALLAS — Easyjet (U2) has extended the suspension of its services to Israel until the end of the first quarter of 2026.

Despite several carriers deciding to resume scheduled flights to Tel Aviv (TLV), the London (LTN) based low-cost carrier (LCC) has announced that it will not resume flights to Israel before spring next year. In fact, U2 was expected to resume its flights to TLV at the end of October.

However, it has extended the suspension of all its routes to and from TLV until March 28, 2023. This decision comes after the European Union’s Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) lifted a high-risk advisory recommending flights avoid the airspace over Israel and other parts of the region, following a truce between Israel and Iran.

“To provide our customers with certainty on our winter flying schedule, we will no longer be operating flights to Tel Aviv over the winter season,” the airline said in a statement.

EasyJet apologized to passengers impacted by its decision to delay the restart of its TLV flights, stating that it commits to restarting the flights next year. “We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and remain committed to resuming our Tel Aviv flying from summer 2026,” the airline said.

Restarting Flights to Israel

That said, Air France (AF) resumed flights between Paris (CDG) and TLV on July 7.  Aegean Airlines (A3) and Air Europa (UX) have also resumed services to and from TLV.

The Lufthansa Group of airlines, comprising Lufthansa (LH), SWISS (LX), Austrian Airlines (OS), Brussels Airlines (SN), and Eurowings (EW), will resume scheduled flights to and from TLV on August 1, 2025. Wizz Air (W6) is also bringing forward the resumption of its flights to TLV, to August 8, 2025.

From the US, United Airlines is expected to resume flights from New York to TLV on July 21. Delta Air Lines (DL) has delayed the resumption of its TLV services to August 31.

British Airways (BA) and low-cost carrier Ryanair (FR) have halted scheduled flights to TLV through to October 25, 2025. Air India (AI) has delayed the resumption of its TLV services to August 31, 2025. KLM (KL) has suspended its Israel services until further notice, citing the ongoing security situation as the cause.

Geopolitical instability and airspace closures such as these result in flight disruptions, which a schedule-driven airline must absorb. Losses and increased operating costs also negatively impact such carriers.
