MOSCOW — Russian carrier Nordwind Airlines (N4) has launched nonstop flights between Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO) and the North Korean capital, Pyongyang (FNJ), on July 27, 2025.
The route is served by Boeing 777-200ER aircraft accommodating 393 passengers, 6 in Business Class and 387 in Economy Class. It is the first nonstop route between Moscow and Pyongyang by a Russian airline since the 1990s.
Initially, the airline will operate flights to the North Korean capital once a month; however, it remains open to increasing frequency if demand is favourable. According to reports, the inaugural flight was fully booked.
This route became the second nonstop service between Russia and North Korea. Previously, the North Korean flag carrier operated direct flights between Pyongyang (FNJ) and Vladivostok (VVO), which were flown on Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft.
