DALLAS — Egypt’s civil aviation sector could soon see a new private entrant, with Pyramids Airlines moving through the regulatory steps required to begin flying in 2026.
The airline’s CEO, Sherif Sharaf, said the company is entering the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority’s review stages as it works toward licensing, alongside an “ambitious plan” to quickly scale its fleet.
On the operational side, the Egyptian Gazette reports that Pyramids has already lined up ground support: EgyptAir Ground Services has signed an agreement to provide ground-handling services for the startup, a signal that the carrier is building out the basics needed to launch.
Commercially, the airline has been positioning itself in the leisure ecosystem. Pyramids Airlines says via its Facebook account that it will make its first official appearance at FITUR 2026 in Madrid, while company representatives highlight meetings focused on strategic partnerships, charter flying, and ACMI cooperation, aligning with a charter/leisure-led go-to-market approach.
A quick note for AVGeeks: this Pyramids Airlines is separate from Egypt’s defunct “Pyramid Airlines,” which operated from 1977 to 2007, and it’s also unrelated to the “Pyramids Airlines” name seen in Microsoft Flight Simulator communities.
We don't know if Pyramids’ early moves—regulatory sequencing, outsourced ground handling, and tour-operator-facing outreach at FITUR—suggest a pragmatic startup playbook focused on generating revenue quickly in charter/leisure markets before attempting a broader scheduled network build-out.
For now, Pyramids Airlines is promoting the "start of its operations soon" on social media and hiring CABIN CREW via career@pyramidsairlines.com as per the following qualifications:
