DOHA — Qatar Airways (QR) will expand its footprint in South America with two new destinations. The Doha-based airline has affirmed its expansion in the Americas with the launch of flights to Caracas, Venezuela, and Bogotá, Colombia.
The airline will serve these destinations with a triangular routing, operating a Boeing 777-200LR. The flight will arrive in Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport (BOG), then continue to Caracas Simón Bolivar International Airport (CCS), before returning to Hamad International Airport (DOH).
The service will operate twice weekly. Flights will depart DOH on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Flight schedule
- QR783 departs DOH at 07:30, arriving in BOG at 16:05 the same day.
- QR783 leaves BOG at 17:35, arriving in CCS at 20:40.
- QR783 departs CCS at 22:40, arriving in DOH at 19:55 the following day.
This service will commence on July 22, 2026.
The flight schedule has been designed to provide smooth onward connections through DOH to key markets including Australia, China, Japan, Lebanon, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. This offers passengers greater flexibility and seamless transfer options across QR’s network.
South American expansion
This expansion underscores the airline’s commitment to strengthening global connectivity for the region.
This new service represents a significant milestone for QR, as it becomes the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela, and the first airline to operate flights from the Middle East to Caracas and Bogotá.
The addition of CCS and BOG marks the 15th and 16th destinations in the Americas served by QR. The Gulf carrier began serving South America in 2010 with services to São Paulo.
