SAS to Resume Two Routes to Beirut in June 2025

DALLAS — SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK) has decided to restore flights to Beirut this summer. From June 6, 2025, passengers can expect up to five weekly departures from Stockholm and Copenhagen.

The airline’s press release claims that “improving conditions” in the Middle East region enable it to resume services and allow travelers to visit their families and friends. SK will resume operations in Beirut after a temporary suspension in October 2023. As noted in the statement, this decision was subject to government approval.

SAS’ Airbus A320neo will operate SAS flights to Beirut’s Rafic-Hariri International Airport (BEY) as per the following schedule:

  • Copenhagen–Beirut (CPH–BEY): Three weekly flights from June 6 to October 25, 2025
  • Stockholm–Beirut (ARN–BEY): Two weekly flights from June 17 to August 31, 2025

Air France reestablished its presence in Beirut, confirming the resumption of connections between Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Beirut as of February 1, 2025. The airline initially launched with five weekly flights, with plans to gradually return to its standard schedule of seven weekly flights. These services are operated using widebody aircraft - specifically the Airbus A350 and A330, a commitment to providing substantial capacity on this route.

Transavia France, the low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group, also resumed its connections between Paris-Orly (ORY) and Beirut on February 13, 2025, initially offering three weekly flights. Following this initial phase, Transavia France gradually increased frequency to reach up to six weekly flights on March 3, 2025, using its Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

SAS Management Statement

Henrik Winell, SAS's Vice President of Network, said the airline knew many of its customers had been looking forward to the return of SK Beirut flights.

The schedule of Beirut flights should contribute to maximal flexibility and connectivity, managing convenient night flights that would offer good options for travels onward to North America and Northern Europe.
