TOULOUSE — SWISS (LX) has officially unveiled its new Airbus A350-900, showcasing the "SWISS Wanderlust" livery—a world-first in aircraft livery design.
The long-haul jet, revealed at Airbus’s Toulouse facility, is wrapped in an expansive, precision-applied film rather than traditional paint. This innovative process marks the largest application of foil wraps in Airbus' history, covering 380 m² with intricate, hand-applied motifs.

Swiss Iconography
The unique livery celebrates Switzerland’s cultural and natural landmarks, featuring iconic sites such as the Jet d’Eau in Geneva, the Chapel Bridge in Lucerne, the Montreux Freddie Mercury statue, and Zurich’s Grossmünster.
Highlights also include the Lauberhorn ski race in Wengen, Art Basel, St. Moritz’s horse races, and the Locarno Film Festival’s Golden Leopard. Smaller symbols, such as the marmot, William Tell’s apple, and Helvetia, further enrich the design.

Enhanced Passenger Experience
SWISS has customized the A350-900 cabin layout with its “SWISS Senses” concept: 3 First Class seats, 45 Business, 38 Premium Economy (a notably larger Premium Economy than on past fleet), and 156 Economy.
In Economy, passengers will appreciate improved comfort, quieter cabins, better air humidity, and a more spacious ride—a modern twin-jet with wide-body amenities.
Ahead of its arrival in Switzerland later this summer, the newly "wrapped" aircraft will undergo final system checks and test flights in Toulouse. LX is also launching an interactive "SWISS Treasure Hunt" at swiss.com/treasurehunt, where users can explore the livery’s hidden AR details and compete for a chance to win a flight for two in the A350’s new Business Class.
SWISS is replacing its aging, fuel‑thirsty A340s (and eventually A330s) with five new A350‑900s starting summer 2025—part of a broader fleet renewal through 2031.
