Turkish Airlines Announces Record-Breaking Boeing Order

SEATTLE — Turkish Airlines (TK) announced an order for 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, including 35 of the Boeing 787-9 model, 15 of the Boeing 787-10 model, and an option to purchase 25 more Dreamliners.

The order of 75 new long-haul jets will support over 123,000 jobs in the U.S. and boost TK's fleet modernization and expansion.

Boeing 737 MAX Order on Short Final

Turkish Airlines also announced its intention to purchase up to 150 additional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which will be the airline's largest single-aisle Boeing order once finalized.

Orders for the Boeing 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner combined will double TK’s Boeing fleet, supporting the airline's capacity growth and network expansion.

"This landmark agreement represents much more than fleet growth. It is a reflection of our leadership in the industry as well as our dedication to innovation and operational excellence. The addition of these advanced Boeing aircraft to our fleet will not only enhance our operational capabilities but also become a significant element supporting Turkish Airlines' 2033 Vision of expanding our fleet to 800 aircraft," said Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee.

"We are honored that Turkish Airlines has once again chosen the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX to power its future growth,” said Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Boeing Order Bolsters Turkish Network

Turkish Airlines’ network is famously known for connecting more countries than any airline in the world. As of today, the Turkish national carrier operates over 200 Boeing aircraft, including 787-9, 777, 737 MAX and NG, and 777F.

With over 1,200 aircraft delivered, Boeing says Dreamliners serve about 500,000 passengers around the globe every day and connecting more countries than any widebody fleet.

The addition of the Boeing 787-10 model will enable TK to benefit from increased passenger and cargo capacity, as well as enhanced fuel efficiency, on high-demand routes to the U.S., Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Dreamliners offer superior comfort for passengers with the most enormous windows of any wide-body aircraft, less dry air, lower cabin altitude, and innovative technology to counter turbulence and offer a smooth ride for customers.

Long-lasting Partnership Between Türkiye and Boeing

For 80 years, Boeing has supported Türkiye-based airlines with commercial jets and services, as well as the government with defense platforms.

"As a proud partner to Türkiye and the Turkish aviation industry for 80 years, we look forward to continuing our support of Turkish Airlines as they expand operations and deliver exceptional experiences to their passengers," added Stephanie Pope.

With offices in Ankara and Istanbul, Boeing has invested $2 billion in supply chain development and created almost 5,000 jobs in Türkiye.

U.S. aircraft manufacturers’ investment supports growth and innovation in the Turkish aviation sector, while also enhancing the integration of the Turkish aerospace industry into the global supply chain.
