DUBAI — Dubai International Airport (DXB) began limited operations on Monday, March 16, following a drone strike near the airport that damaged a fuel tank and caused a fire, resulting in a temporary suspension of flights earlier that day.
Flights resumed on a limited basis from 10:00 a.m. local time, though disruptions persisted. Some inbound flights were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), and road access around DXB was temporarily restricted as authorities responded.
Dubai Civil Defence confirmed the fire was contained, and authorities reported no injuries from the attack. Airlines advised passengers to travel to the airport only if they had a confirmed booking and had been contacted directly by their carrier.
