DALLAS — Frontier Airlines (F9) will introduce two new nonstop routes this July, bolstering its East Coast and Midwest connectivity as part of a larger summer network expansion.
Starting July 7, the ultra-low-cost carrier will introduce a thrice-weekly connection between Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) and Chicago O'Hare (ORD). The twice-weekly connection between Trenton-Mercer (TTN) and Myrtle Beach International (MYR) will begin three days later.
Unsurprisingly, both route fares appeal to budget travelers during the peak summer season. The operations will be on alternate days, in line with F9's standard point-to-point network model for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
New Frontier: Service with Comfort Enhancements
The expansion follows the carrier's ongoing makeover under its "New Frontier" initiative, which blends fare accessibility with improved onboard amenities.
New additions include the rollout of UpFront Plus, a new fare class in the first two rows of seating, providing increased legroom and a confirmed empty middle seat. F9 also plans to introduce First Class cabins later this year, a big move for an ultra-low-cost carrier.
Expanded Loyalty Program Benefits Frequent Flyers
With the carrier looking to gain more share in competitive vacation markets, it is complementing its network expansion with enhancements to customer experience.
Frequent travelers can use the retooled FRONTIER Miles program, which rewards up to 20X earning multipliers and benefits at elite levels beginning at just 10,000 miles. The program's family pooling capability simplifies groups' ability to pool rewards toward collective travel objectives.
Targeting Summer Demand with Strategic Pairings
F9's introduction of a connecting link between TTN and MYR reconnects a top summer loop for beach-holiday travelers in the Northeast. Meanwhile, the new BWI–ORD route provides another low-fare choice between two top U.S. metropolitan areas, where legacy airlines have strong presences.
Sustainability, Value Still Core to Operations
With fuel-efficient A320neo jets and one of the youngest fleets in the United States, F9 continues to lead operational sustainability. In 2024, the airline was named North American Environmental Sustainability Airline of the Year.
Promotional fares must be reserved by May 12 and are valid for specific dates up to August 18. Conditions apply.
