COLOGNE – Lufthansa (LH) has received approval for its new Allegris Business Class seats on the Boeing 787-9.
D-ABPM, a Boeing 787-9 nicknamed “Podsdam,” operated service from Frankfurt to Toronto as Flight LH470 on March 15. The flight had 25 Allegris seats available, marking the first of many trips for the new product.
The aircraft then operated a return flight to Frankfurt, followed by a flight to Mumbai. The airline currently holds eight other 787s with Allegris seats, all of which are expected to begin service by Wednesday.
While LH’s Allegris 787-9s began service in October 2025, most business-class seats remained unavailable as the aircraft awaited certification. With 25 seats now available, travelers can enjoy Allegris as the product nears full throttle.
Allegris Business Class on the 787-9 offers a variety of different experiences, with the most notable being the Business Class Suite. Passengers can also choose between the Extra Space Seat, the Privacy Seat, the Extra Long Bed, and the base-level Classic Seat.
More destinations for the Allegris seats
Lufthansa has received 10 Boeing 787-9s so far and plans to receive 27 more by the end of 2027. As the airline continues to receive additional 787s with the Allegris product, passengers will have the chance to try out the new seats on a number of routes, with the airline’s summer schedule beginning on March 29.
Travelers can find the aircraft on flights to Austin, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Cape Town, Shanghai, Hyderabad, and Hong Kong. The Allegris 787s will also be assigned to New York JFK and Los Angeles in June, in addition to Delhi in July.
