Southwest Expands Icelandair Partnership East Coast

DALLAS — In early 2025, Southwest Airlines (WN) and Icelandair’s (FI) official partnership spurred a growth in connecting flight locations, most recently adding Orlando (MCO), Pittsburgh (PIT), and Raleigh (RDU).

Available in July of 2025, these routes add to the growing list of continental United States cities where FI service will be available through WN, already including Nashville (BNA), Denver (DEN), and Baltimore (BWI).

As WN enters the international airline market, it offers travelers more streamlined travel from the US to cities across Europe, and vice versa.

While passengers are unable to book flights on the WN website as of June 2025, they can use third-party travel sites and IcelandairGroup.com to secure their itineraries. Despite this, Southwest maintains its loyal client base through proven performance and market expansion.

“We are very happy to announce our growing partnership with Southwest, following the success of our initial collaboration launched earlier this year,” says Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair.

For both airlines, this opportunity presents a smooth route for international travel without the complexity.
